Introduction

Thank you for using Abbey. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Abbey you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create your account. Signing in is optional.

Prayer requests you share. If you create a prayer request or send a prayer to someone, the name and request text you enter are stored so they can be delivered.

Reading and prayer activity. Your highlights, notes, favorites, streaks, and reading position are stored on your device to make the app work.

Speech and microphone

Prayer verification and confession use your device’s speech recognition to check the words you speak. Audio is processed in real time and is not stored by us unless you explicitly choose to save or share a prayer recording. Confessions are never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

AI features

When you use Ask Abbey or AI-written prayers, the verse text or prayer details you provide are sent to an AI service to generate a response. These requests are not used to identify you and are not sold.

Subscriptions and payments

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Stripe (web). We never see or store your card details. Subscription management and refunds follow Apple’s or Stripe’s terms.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use advertising trackers. We do not use your data for advertising.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Abbey is not directed at children under 12, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

You can use Abbey without an account. You can delete your account and associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account & Data in the app.
